This is a text trance from a while back…
William and I had never met or spoken, but he did know that I was a hypnotist. He also had never before been hypnotized.
I would say it’s most probably the quickest tested hypnosis ever done via text (with no previous installed PHS).
It took 1 minute 20 seconds from the open until we got an IMR, and another 4 minutes 40 seconds until I got confirmation for a negative visual hallucination.

I agree wholeheartedly. This “induction” is absolute nonsense. Just telling someone to “unconsciously” respond is not going to put someone into trance. *If* it did work, and that’s a big if, it only worked because of the pretalk, which he doesn’t show here so it’s hard to say. If he did a pretalk, this very well could work, because the pretalk may have set it up to actually work. But… just straight up saying, “unconsciously respond” is not going to put someone into trance. Ridiculous.

That induction is much more likely to work, but still improbable. You’d have much better luck doing a confusion induction or relaxation induction. Text-based hypnosis certainly can work, but it’s not magic. There’s a method to it just like normal hypnosis, and it’s utterly insulting that this author is trying to play it off like this is an induction someone could actually use… there’s no induction here at all!

it is very improbable this is real, hypnosis needs a focus point to drain the conscious away, and there is no way to do this over text. I would like to try, because i am curios about why this works if this is actually real.
Could not agree more. This is very, very unlikely to be real. If it did work, it’s due to a good pretalk that the author did not include in this post. It’s disappointing because you *can* hypnotize through text, just… not like this.
Hey. Unlikely as it seems, this is real. The hypnotee had some expectation in place when they reached out (which essentially took the place of a pre talk), but the main reason it worked is because he was a very gifted subject. Most of the variation in response is finding the right subject. In this case I got lucky.
